Employees\u2019 time is therefore a key driver to monitor the business.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"254\" data-end=\"542\">In a consulting firm, it is very common to feel that some clients generate losses, as they consume a lot of time, call frequently, fail to deliver documentation on time, make it harder to meet deadlines, or simply require a level of service that does not match the price they are charged.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"704\">Conversely, we also notice that some clients make our work easier, with smooth communication and mutual trust, and we intuitively feel that they are profitable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"873\">However, when you have more than 300 clients and provide around 60 different services, intuition is no longer enough to make sound strategic and operational decisions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"1152\">\ud83d\udc33 To move beyond intuition, we have created <strong data-start=\"920\" data-end=\"955\">\u201cTHE TIME TRACKING APPLICATION\u201d<\/strong> for every employee\u2014including the manager\u2014which allows them to record, continuously throughout the workday, their activity: what they are doing, for which client, and when the task starts and ends.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1154\" data-end=\"1531\">This is a revolution based on a humanistic approach, not just the creation of a technical tool. Let me explain: asking each person to record what they do at every moment requires effort, and also involves sharing their \u201cworking life\u201d with great transparency. Everyone\u2014owner, manager, and employees\u2014is fully aware that this entails significant responsibility in the use of data.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1533\" data-end=\"1787\">We operate with a strong purpose \ud83d\udc33: to use data to build a profitability matrix (Client, Service), and to identify which actions consume the most time and therefore require priority focus to improve process efficiency and make the firm more competitive.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1789\" data-end=\"2116\">The goal is not to monitor how much time people rest or any personal matters. In fact, we agreed\u2014with the owner, the manager, and the entire team, all together\u2014that if the data is ever used for any purpose other than improvement, the initiative will be immediately stopped and the tool eliminated. This point is non-negotiable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2118\" data-end=\"2303\">After 11 months of implementation in the first firm where we deployed the tool, and thanks to outstanding collaboration from the team, we have recorded <strong data-start=\"2270\" data-end=\"2286\">18,488 hours<\/strong>\u2014a true treasure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2305\" data-end=\"2636\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Now, the manager, using data (date, employee, action, client), meets with clients to explain what is happening, opening the door to solutions.
